  • Cora Lindsay (she/her) Teacher for 15 years and Recovering Founder.

My body developed some functional asymmetries as a teenager which is how I found pilates, as a young person in pain. Learning pilates could give me my body back set me ablaze for learning the method. I started at a big box, because it was cheap as an 18 year old, then wafted over to someone who came out of the Houston Ballet that left me well trained on the mat and anatomy but I wanted more. I soon after  found my first comprehensive program which trained me on Balanced Body and Gratz equipment, but it had some gaps I needed filled. After a weekend long workshop with a second generation teacher on Gratz my brain chemistry was forever changed, and so was my body. After that I went to New York and California to train with people who could help me understand the various roots of the system. I was seeking the why and how pretty seriously.

After that adventure in 2017 I went on a hunt for another comprehensive cert and found one. This robust training was based out of New York. I completed this training while opening a studio here in Houston with a colleague where we hosted that educational training program. I enjoyed 5 years teaching teachers to teach and clients to trust their bodies. This season of my professional and personal development lasted from March of 2017 through February 2022.

After divesting and taking a 2-year career pause to focus on family and what would be next I missed the work I had molded my life around. I never stopped working in my body but halted teaching clients.

Spring of 2024 I began taking on clients once again. I have never felt more full of passion for further learning and delivering of this life changing system here are Contrology Co-Op.

I teach this methodology in a way that can be absorbed and understood by any body and any mover. Regardless of your injuries or experiences we will enjoy goal setting, realizing milestones and exceeding what we thought was possible beside one another working within your bodies' limitations and expectation day-to-day because every body and every day is different. Let's chat for a deeper discussion of what you can expect inside this system working together towards your goals.

  • INDEPENDENT APPRENTICE INSTRUCTOR

GorJean is currently working towards becoming a comprehensively trained certified Pilates instructor through Rebel Pilates Collective.

She has been involved in riding Dressage horses for most of her life, participating in various sports, and has always valued the mind-body connection in her training and coaching.

In 2016, she discovered Pilates while searching for an alternative way to move due to serious back injuries. It wasn't until she began training with Heather Erdmann, the founder of Rebel Pilates, that she found a method that re-established the mind-body connection. This approach has helped her develop a new awareness of her body, allowing her to stay active, free from pain, and become stronger.

Having experienced much success with Classical Pilates, GorJean decided to pursue certification in order to assist others in achieving their fitness goals.

Classical Pilates enables individuals to learn how to move their bodies in a natural way that can benefit their everyday lives. It is also an ongoing exploration of the science of movement, and most importantly, it's enjoyable!

Meet Heather

My name is Heather Erdmann, and I am the founder of the Contrology Co-op, founder of Rebel Pilates Collective, grateful retired owner of Pure Body Studio and a classical Pilates teacher. My Pilates story began with a contemporary certification in the mid 00’s that quickly led to the pusuit of a Classical Bridge Program with a second generation Pilates teacher. Sparked by an insatiable desire to know more, I have spent more than twelve years researching the Pilates archives.

At this time in my career I split my workday between working with professional athletes at the studio and the joy of contributing to the education of future teachers throughout the world with Rebel Pilates Collective. My mission is to create safer Pilates spaces and I am thrilled to be doing that, one person at a time, in this current chapter of my work.

The co-op is a safe space where you can move with ease.
