My name is Heather and I am the founder of the Contrology Co-op, the founder of Rebel Pilates Collective, the former owner of Pure Body Studio and a functional movement and comprehensively certified classical Pilates instructor and educator. My Pilates story began with a contemporary certification in the mid 00’s with Balanced Body University that quickly led to the pursuit of a Classical Bridge Program with a second generation Pilates teacher Rebecca Leone. In addition to hundreds of hours of continuing education with those closest to the original Pilates method, sparked by an insatiable desire to know more about Pilates, I have spent more than twelve years researching the Pilates archives. This pursuit led me to a deep connection to the original system of work that Mr. Pilates invented and a desire to stay as close as possible to his method and his intentions while also evolving with scientific discoveries. Pilates is my passion but I am also certified as a Functional Movement Instructor and use scientific principles in my client instruction. At this time in my career I split my workday between working with professional athletes at the studio and the joy of contributing to the education of future teachers throughout the world with Rebel Pilates Collective.
